The Ideal Environment for Your Livestock
 The SolarVent Greenhouse Barn is more economical to buy and operate than conventional farm buildings. For healthy and productive livestock, the SolarVent Greenhouse Barn was specially designed for livestock and is manufactured by Harnois. This series range from 40' wide to 60' wide. "SOLAR" stands for solar sterilization. The SolarVent Greenhouse Barn has two layers of poly covering which allows the sun's ultraviolet light in. This light kills harmful bacteria and keeps bedding drier. "VENT" stand for ventilation. A well ventilated home for your animal means a healthy animal. You can choose to have manual or automated side vents and/or (peak) vent. This unique ridge vent provides the best fresh air conditions for your herd and eliminated corrosion caused by condensation as well as providing a clean and dry environment in which animals thrive.
Specifically designed to be used for livestock. Ideal for large numbers of calf pens, free stalls or tie stalls, or for bedding packs.

What makes a Harnois environment so favorable?
The two most critical conditions, head and moisture are controlled
 PEAK VENTS
- Provide 2-6 times the recommended minimum ventilation
- Vents, plus opening walls maintain and even climate
- The cool dry air is drawn in and the hot moist air moves up and out
 SIDE VENTILATION
All animals need a continuous supply of fresh air regardless of outside conditions. Ridge openings provide natural to exhaust warm, moist and stale air from the enclosure.

 WHITE POLYETHYLENE
- More effective than shade cloth in providing a comfortable, uniform environment
- Allows 90% visible light penetration
- Eliminates undesirable temperature fluctuations in winter which can lead to livestock losses and diseases

EFFICIENCY
Electric consumption is reduced: no need for lights during the day, little or no need for fans and structure heat themselves in the winter.
PRODUCTIVITY
Happy animals are productive animals. That is a proven fact. Milk production increases; animal weight gain increases; loss of livestock due to disease and damaging temperature fluctuation is reduced. Livestock are more readily observable by herdsman.
SOLAR STERILIZATION
Ultraviolet light kills bacteria and virus, reducing the risk of disease and problems like mastitis. Bedding is also kept drier: some farms claim to save as much as 50% on bedding costs.

The choice is yours! Doors can be installed on gable ends and/or sides. Any type of door can be used and they can be installed so they swing, slide or roll-up. Just confirm with our staff the type, size and location of your door(s) to ensure for proper framework.
